    The Sales Engineer - Integration Specialist works with internal and external resources to design solutions for customers and partners to ensure successful implementation and integrate of the company’s software, shipping, and postage services with the customers’ automation systems, databases and/or fulfillment/logistics systems.  The role reports directly to the Manger, Business Services and partners closely with sales team to facilitate field implementations, address technical objectives, maintain accounts and close new opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Objectives:                                                                           

    1. Drive successful mid-high volume customer technical solutions design and implementation of software integrations.
    2. Provide superior technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
    3. Support mid to large size customer acquisition and retention.

    Essential Position Duties (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks):

    • Drive successful mid-high volume customer technical solutions design and implementation of software integrations.
      • Provide strategic guidance to sales and the customer.
      • Establish a working relationship with customers, sales teams, and other cross-functional teams.
      • Analyze customer requirements, and convert them into work orders including any necessary customization.
      • Configure technical solution roadmap and program project requirements to meet the customers’ needs.
      • Demonstrate how the company’s product solutions provide value and support to the customer’s organization.
      • Provide technical assistance to newly onboarded customers.
      • Answer customer questions on product functionality, usage to help solve sales support problems.
    • Provide superior technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
      • Serve as a technical resource to sales team and mid-high volume customer.
      • Install and configure software interface, printers, scales, network connectivity, data format, and other address other related technical issues.
      • Configure database connections via ODBC and OLE interface including intermediate level custom queries.
      • Provide technical consultation and knowledge transfer with Technical Support, Product Management, Partner Management, and Engineering to coordinate resolution of technical issues.
      • Function as the voice of the customer to drive continuous process and service improvements.
      • Recommend and implement best practices to ensure efficient workflow for our customers.
      • Provide feedback to Product Management and other groups as needed.
      • Perform quality assurance testing and record issues found.
      • Manipulate data contained in common file formats (XML, CSV, tab-delimited, etc.)
    • Support customer acquisition and retention.
      • Maintain extensive knowledge of complex aspects of products and systems and may present/demonstrate remotely and/or at client site.
      • Work in partnership with sales team to strategize sales approaches and ensure attainment of sales quotas.
      • Evaluate and analyze customer systems/equipment requirements to gain knowledge understanding to assist the sale teams to identify additional sales opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:                                                                  

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
    • Three (3+) or more years’ experience in implementing software integration solutions in the transportation/small parcel or a related industry.
    • Three (3+) or more years’ experience working with web services, XML, ODBC, and intermediate level complexity database queries.
    • Three (3+) or more years’ experience in data file and database manipulation of data contained in common file formats (XML, CSV, tab-delimited, etc.)
    • Programming experience in C# or C++ is preferred.

     Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to people at all levels and technical skills.
    • Experience in software technical setup and integration.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally work with coworkers, partners and vendors.
    • Intermediate level troubleshooting skills for all applications and environments, ability to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
    • Ability to grasp new technologies and development processes quickly.
    • Flexible to adjust to varying workloads within a fast-paced, complex environment.
    • Strong independent work ethic.
    • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                                   

    • Proficiency in range of operating systems, primarily Microsoft and/or Macintosh.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of macros, and Excel functions.
    • com or equivalent CRM tool.
    • Networking, printer drivers, proxies, firewalls, etc.
    • Web services, SQL, CSV, XLS, XML ODBC, and basic database queries.

     Travel Requirements:

    • Up to 25%
