Overview

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) leads Endicia’s sales team within a region by managing key alliances, working with partners and selling Endicia services and is responsible for driving package revenue growth from new and existing high-volume customers with a team of field sales and field account managers in there assigned territory. ASMs also share revenue responsibility with the ISM for inside sales and inside account managers handling the ASM region. Each ASM carries a team quota and must always be at least in the hunt (80% of goal minimum).

 

The Area Sales Manager also provides basic technical and integration support to partners, prospects, and customers for Endicia’s products and services.

 

This role requires travel and field work a minimum of 3 days a week, 2 weeks a month.

 

Organizational Relationships

  • Reports to: National Sales Manager
  • Directs: Field Sales, Account Managers, Inside Sales
  • Other: Works remotely and covers a specified region by phone, email, and in-person

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Field Sales, Account Managers, and partners with Inside Sales Manager to create strategy for Inside Sales Representatives
  • Strategy for Region effectively monitor to insure success
  • Provide timely feedback to the sales personnel regarding their sales performance
  • Consult with customers on their shipping needs and processes to identify areas where Endicia can help them streamline their operations, save money, or extend their reach by using the US Postal Service and other channel partners through the Endicia Platform
  • Maintains and expands customer base by counseling sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge on the features and business application of the company’s product line
  • Provide training to outside sales team
  • Attend trade shows and marketing activities as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field 
  • Five (5) years of Sales, Sales Support, or Management experience 
  • Experience in parcel shipping or carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS is a plus

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Persuasive sales ability and negotiation skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate products and match their advantages to customer needs
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously 
  • Strong leadership, conflict management, and composure 
  • Planning & organization, self-starting, self motivation
  • Requires an excellent telephone demeanor
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Requires the ability to work on a team with other sales representatives
